Cobo Center launches #CoboCares program with free ZUMBA® sessions on Cobo Square August 25
The inaugural programming season for Cobo Square will include #CoboCares, a series of fitness, community and entertainment activities before and after work hours that will be free to the public. This Thursday, a Zumba® Fitness Class, involving dance and aerobic movements will be performed to energetic music provided by Metro Detroit DJ Waxtax-N-Dre.

WHO: Detroit’s Ivy Mitchell, a certified International Zumba® instructor in the United States and Europe, will be leading the group on Cobo Square from 5PM – 7PM. After serving nine years in the United States military, Ivy started a business teaching fitness and has been a licensed Zumba® Fitness instructor since 2008. She has been voted #1 instructor for Zumba® Fitness classes in Michigan by WDIV. Last summer she conducted a class at Campus Martius with participants from all over the Metro Detroit area, that included dozens of members of the Detroit Police Department. She has also been the organizer and choreographer of the Detroit Pistons Zumba Halftime Show for the past two years.
